The Little League World Series (LLWS) is an annual baseball and softball tournament for children aged 10 to 12 years old. It is one of the world’s most well-known and prestigious youth sports events. The tournament occurs in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA, at the Little League International Complex.

The LLWS consists of regional qualifying tournaments held around the world. The winners of these regional tournaments advance to the final rounds in South Williamsport. The tournament is divided into two main divisions: the United States division and the International division. Each division crowns its own champion, and these champions compete in the championship game to determine the overall winner of the Little League World Series.

Little League hosts seven World Series, with the original being the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, established in 1947. The most recent addition is the Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division in Livermore, California, inaugurated in 2013. The first Little League Baseball World Series night game was on Aug. 24, 1992.

There are approximately two million boys and girls who play Little League worldwide. Also, the organization promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play among young athletes. It’s a highly televised event and attracts much attention from sports fans and families. The tournament is about games and cultural exchange, as players from various countries come together to compete and form friendships.
