First, Juan Soto set a new personal record for home runs in a season, and then Aaron Judge hit two home runs in the second game of the series against the Cleveland Guardians. The New York Yankees secured an 8-1 victory.

‘The Judge’ hit a two-run homer in the third inning, followed by a solo shot in the seventh, bringing his total to 47 home runs in the 2024 MLB season.

Judge on 47 home runs

The first of Judge’s home runs came off starter Joey Cantillo. The pitcher threw a curveball that hung in the middle of the strike zone, and the Yankees’ outfielder powered it to the right-center field.

The second homer of the night came against reliever E. Morgan. After working the count full, Judge found a 93 mph fastball and sent the ball into the right-field stands.

The Bronx Bombers’ outfielder leads MLB in home runs, RBIs (117), and is second in batting average (.334).

Judge looks for third season with 50 or more HRs

Judge is aiming for his third season with 50 or more home runs in Major League Baseball. The first time was in 2017 when he won the American League Rookie of the Year award after hitting 52 home runs. The second occurred in 2022 when he set the records for most home runs in Yankees and American League history with 62. Where can he go this season?
