When is Shohei Ohtani’s debut at Dodger Stadium? Prices, dates, times
The Japanese superstar is set to finally play at Dodgers Stadium. Here’s everything we know.
The countdown to the start of the new season in Major League Baseball is about to reach minute zero, and baseball fans are already way past excited at the thought of seeing their idols return to the diamond, with plenty of new faces set to start their careers for their new teams.
The levels of excitement to see Shohei Ohtani are certainly for real. The player will make his official debut this season with the Los Angeles Dodgers after agreeing a 10-year, $700 million deal, following his release from the Los Angeles Angels as a free agent.
When is Ohtani’s Dodger Stadium debut?
Shohei Ohtani underwent ‘Tommy John’ surgery on September 19 but is expected to be back for opening day. We have already seen glimpses of his talent during Spring Training and now we will get to see a more in-form matchup when they play the two-game set against the San Diego Padres in the MLB Seoul Series.
But what fans are most eager to see is his debut at Dodger Stadium and the first Series that is scheduled is against the St. Louis Cardinals, this coming March 28 at 1:30 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. ET).
What is the cost of a ticket to see Shohei Ohtani’s debut at Dodger Stadium?
Ticket costs are increasing as the expected date approaches and for now the average to see the game in the stands of Dodger Stadium is $533 on the StubHub website, an amount well above what we are used to seeing to go to a baseball stadium.
The value skyrocketed after the arrival of Japanese Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who signed for 12 years and $325 million.
Incredible as it may seem, that price is set to increase, with tickets expected to average closer to $985 by mid-season depending on the Dodgers’ opponent.
