It’s not every day that you’re sitting watching a Major League Baseball game and one of the biggest names in pop shows up.

The MLB playoffs can be a stressful time. So much energy is sapped, so much emotional to deal with, it’s normal for mistakes to creep into your game. And it appears this can also apply to commentators.

Bieber: of the Justin or Shane variety?

During the latest playoff game between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Guardians, the soft voice of Bob Costas is heard advising us watching that Shane Bieber had reached over 80 pitches for the Guardians. But wait, what did he actually call him?

Yes, the pop star ‘Justin’ got his name thrown in front of his namesake sports star, suggesting that Bob may be a bit of a fan. Either that or, as Jake Marsh suggests, he’s cleverly trying to bring in new fans to the game.
