When is the MLB All-Star Game?

The 2024 MLB All-Star Game will be the 94th edition of the contest bringing together the best players from the American League (AL) and National League (NL). This year, the midsummer night classic will take place on Tuesday 16 July at the Globe Life Field, home to the Texas Rangers, the defending World Series champions. The game gets underway at 7 p.m. local time (8 p.m. EDT / 5 p.m. PDT).

This will be the second time that the All-Star Game has been held in Arlington and the fifth time in Texas. The Ballpark last hosted the game in 1995 with the Astros hosting it in 1968, 1986 and 2004.

The 2024 festivities will kick off on Friday 12 July with the HBCU Swingman Classic featuring baseball students from Division-I universities programs. The All-Star Village, MLB’s marquee fan festival, starts on Saturday and runs for four days.

The 2024 MLB Draft will also be taking place during All-Star week - the opening night of the Draft will take place on Sunday 14 July 14 at the historic Cowtown Coliseum in the heart of Fort Worth Stockyards and will be open to the general public.

The MLB All-Stars are selected by a two stage voting process. Fans could vote for the their favorite players from 5-27 June. After the first phase, MLB announced finalists at each position and one starter for each league. The finalists at each position then go head-to-head in direct voting during the second stage which ran from 30 June to 3 July.
