Update:

The 2025 World Series is set to give fans an historic matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.

While the Dodgers enjoyed a relatively relaxed wait, watching the American League Championship Series unfold between the Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners, Toronto emerged victorious in dramatic fashion, clinching their spot with a seventh-inning home run from George Springer in Game 7.

Now the match is set and the tension is rising, attention turns to details: one key factor in any World Series outcome is home-field advantage, and this year it belongs to the Blue Jays.

For the first time since 1993, a Canadian team will host the opening games. As pointed out by USA Today, since 1995, 20 of the 29 World Series winners have had home-field advantage, giving the statistic an extra edge of drama.

Toronto secured home field advantage thanks to their 94-68 regular-season record, just a single win better than the Dodgers’ record.

This advantage is particularly meaningful given Toronto struggled on the road during the season, making the familiar confines of Rogers Centre a potential game-changer in the high-pressure environment of the World Series.

The series schedule reflects this advantage. As pointed out above, the first two games will be held in Toronto on October 24 and 25, giving the Blue Jays the chance to start strong in front of their home crowd; games 3 through 5 will shift to Los Angeles. Should the series stretch to six or seven games, the final matches will return to Toronto.
