Baseball fans will notice that players on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are wearing green hats. Major League Baseball is celebrating Armed Forces Day this weekend to remember those men and women that served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force and Marines to defend their country.

MLB wants to raise awareness and promote their MLB Together platform

The service-inspired caps designed by New Era feature the baseball teams’ logos and will be word by players, coaches, managers and other on-field personnel this weekend. Matching camouflage socks are available for players and special lineup cards featuring the Armed Forces Day logo will also be used.

The money received from the license royalties of the authentic collection apparel will be donated to MLB charities in support of military programs. More information can be found on the MLB website.

Teams are wearing the commemorative caps and matching accessories this weekend to demonstrate collective support and appreciation of military service men, women and their families for Armed Forces Day 2023.

Fans can purchase the hats and other accessories at local sporting goods shops or online at the MLB shop.

Armed Forces Day, which is officially on May 15 but celebrated on the third Saturday in May, honors service members across the six branches of the military within the US Department of Defense: the US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Air Force, the US Coast Guard and the newest branch of service the US Space Force.
