Will Anthony Rizzo play for the Yankees against the Guardians in the AL Championship Series game 1?

The manager of the New York team, Aaron Boone, announced on Sunday that there is a slight chance the first baseman will have an opportunity to play.

As the New York Yankees prepare for the ALCS, the Burrough of Bronx team is optimistic, even though it hasn’t yet hit its full stride. While their lineup hasn’t been firing on all cylinders, Giancarlo Stanton has shouldered much of the offensive load, helping the Yankees move within striking distance of the American League Championship Series.

The team’s pitching has been spectacular, providing the backbone for their postseason success. Yet, despite their dominant pitching, the Yankees haven’t faced their toughest test, and many believe their path to the World Series is more straightforward than it has been in years.

In two decades, the Yankees seem to have the easiest path to the World Series. Their next opponent, Cleveland, has strong pitching but struggles to score runs. Carlos Rodón and Aaron Judge are expected to play key roles in the upcoming series. One player sorely missed against the Royals was Anthony Rizzo, known for his powerful hitting. Cabrera and Berti did a phenomenal job at first base despite his absence.

Will Anthony Rizzo be able to help the Yanks in the ALCS?

On Sunday, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone provided an update on the first baseman’s condition.

Boone mentioned that Rizzo, who injured his finger after being hit by a pitch during the regular season series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, could be included in New York’s ALCS roster.

Rizzo fractured two fingers on his right hand towards the end of the season and was not on the Yankees’ roster for their ALDS victory against Kansas City. As per Boone, he began participating in baseball activities in early October and is expected to increase his activity level on Sunday.

It’s still uncertain whether he will be included in the ALCS roster. If he does return for the series against the Guardians, he is likely to take on the starting role at first base, a position that was filled twice each by Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti during the ALDS.
