Yoshinobu Yamamoto remains the prominent figure in the current free agency market of Major League Baseball, following the decision of his Japanese compatriot Shohei Ohtani to join the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The pitcher is being closely monitored by several teams in MLB, with the New York Yankees and the Dodgers currently emerging as the leading contenders to secure the player’s services. The ‘Bronx Bombers’ have reportedly made an initial offer that significantly surpasses expectations with a bid that could reach up to $200 million for the player.

And the figure that has surfaced in recent hours is $304 million for a nine-season contract. According to insider Jim Bowden. Yankees personnel have already met with the Japanese player’s representatives in an attempt to persuade him to join their ranks. Similarly, meetings are scheduled with Dodgers personnel to initiate negotiations.
