“As long as we’re in the same mindset as a team...we’re in a good place” - Giannis
The Bucks advanced to the second round of playoffs after defeating the Bulls 4-1 in the series, and Giannis says it’s not all about scoring lots of points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a game-high 33 points for the Milwaukee Bucks in their game 5 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Greek Freak is responsible for the majority of the Bucks’ baskets in nearly every game. And yet, Giannis insists it’s not just about the scoring. It’s about teamwork.
“I don’t affect the game by scoring. That’s not who I am,” said Antetokounmpo. “I affect the game by playing hard - try to block a shot, playing defense, creating for my teammate, try to get in the paint, rebound the ball...”
Giannis’ 33 points and nine rebounds led to the Bucks’ 116-100 defeat over the Bulls to give them the 4-1 series lead and advance them to the second round of the playoffs.
“As long as we’re in the same mindset as a team that, hey, we gotta do it all together, we’re gonna be in a good place. Once we try to do it all by ourselves, it’s not gonna work.”
The Bucks will face the Boston Celtics in round two, which will start for them on Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m. ET in Boston.
