Bulls splash the cash with $100 million free agent deal
The Chicago-based franchise have signed a restricted free agent to a huge package.

After a summer of back-and-forth, guard Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls have finally found common ground in their contract negotiations.
The 22-year-old, who was been locked into restricted free agency, has signed a four-year, fully guaranteed deal worth $100 million, say reports.
There are no team or player options included in the deal that is laid out as a straightforward, no-strings attached agreement.
Giddey’s record with the Bulls
The player himself took to social media to break his silence on the deal, uploading to Instagram a picture of himself in his Bulls jersey at the United Center with the caption “@chicagobulls 🔒🫶🏼." His teammates quickly responded, with Tre Jones saying “Yeah gid” and Matas Buzelis adding “Ouuuuu weeee”.
Giddey’s time in Chicago so far seems to justify the investment. After arriving in a June 2024 trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder, he turned into a statistical monster. Over the full season, he averaged career-highs with 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and a 37.8% three-point mark.
However, if fans were enamoured before the All Star Break, they had no idea what they were about to see. Giddey elevated his game to previously unseen levels, posting around 21 points, around 10 rebounds, and 9 assists per game.
The contract signals more than just good numbers—it cements Giddey’s place at the core of the Bulls’ future. Re-signing him removes the uncertainty of next offseason and lets the team build around his breakout form.
