The two topics grappling for number one spot in the US right now are the WNBA and the war raging between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, but who would’ve thought that the two would cross paths? No, Caitlin Clark has not dropped a diss track, but she has had her say on which artist she sides with as they battle (although Kendrick needs to hurry up).

Stood on the orange carpet, head-to-toe in Prada, basketball sensation Clark was asked by Janaé Sims which artist she preferred, and the poor questioner hadn’t even finished before she replied, leaving no doubt as to who comes out on top in the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark prefers Drake over Kendrick Lamar

“Drake”, Clark responded resolutely, “Drake’s my favourite artist”. Well, that’s settled then.

Of all the players who were asked on the orange carpet - Rickea Jackson, Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Celeste Taylor, Jacy Sheldon, Charisma Osborne, Nika Muhl, Alissa Pili, Nyadiew Puoch, Aaliyah Edwards and Liz Kitley - all but 1 of them picked the Canadian.

Brink chooses Kendrick as Reese avoids the debate

It was Cameron Brink, who moved to the Los Angeles Sparks as the second overall pick, who chose the ‘N95′ rapper. Perhaps she knew that getting on the wrong side of the Compton artist’s fanbase before touching down in his home state wasn’t the smartest move.

Angel Reese, however, chose to go all J Cole and not get involved, saying “I don’t know, I like both! I don’t want to get in the mix!” No apology from her, however. In the end, the 10-1 scoreline for Drizzy just upped the ante for Kendrick to hurry and get his reply out before ‘Push Ups’ is followed with a back to back track.

Will Kendrick Lamar drop a diss track and reply to Drake?

We hope so. The feeling is that Kendrick Lamar is dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on a diss track that must surely come sooner rather than later, as he certainly needs to respond to Drake following the release of ‘Push Ups’, which labelled Kendrick a “pipsqueak” while also warning his opponent not to “wake a demon up”.

Smooth talker Rick Ross replied with ‘Champagne Moments’, criticising Drake for “leakin’ they records when we speakin’ directly / If we keepin’ it gangsta, when you see me you check me”.

Added to the drama is the introduction of AI, something we certainly didn’t have back in the days of Jay-Z, Nas and 50 Cent. A TikTok video emerged of the purported creator of the AI Kendrick track, and it’s just as well, as many were disappointed with the alleged effort from K Dot. Keep an eye out on AS USA for all the latest news on the beef as we get it.
