Draymond Green an active part of Warriors trade talks
The long-time Warriors talent is reportedly part of trade talks ahead of the deadline.

With the NBA trade deadline looming, the Golden State Warriors are reportedly having serious discussions that could reshape one of the most iconic rosters of the past decade.
According to league sources, veteran forward Draymond Green’s name has surfaced in active trade negotiations as the franchise explores a blockbuster deal.
Green, a cornerstone of the Warriors’ success over the past 14 seasons, finds himself at the centre of talks that could involve multiple teams and include a potential pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Golden State’s front office, led by general manager Mike Dunleavy and majority owner Joe Lacob, is said to be weighing up various trade frameworks that might require moving Green’s contract to balance salaries and attract elite talent.

"[Draymond and I] have talked [about the trade rumors]. I think what's really tricky for Draymond is this is the only place he's ever known. He's going to have a statue outside the building someday."

“If I’m traded, that’s part of the business”
The gravity of these discussions would mark a significant shift for a player who has become synonymous with the Warriors dynasty. Drafted in 2012, Green has been one of the team’s most influential figures, anchoring their defence and providing leadership through three NBA championships alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Yet, sources suggest that his hefty contract, while valuable, could be a key component to making a marquee trade work.
Despite the swirling speculation, Green has remained outwardly composed. After a recent game, he addressed the chatter with characteristic candour, acknowledging that trades are part of professional sport and expressing no personal anxiety about his future. “I’ve been here for 14 years,” Green said when asked about his future. “I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I’m traded, that’s part of the business. I ain’t losing no sleep, though. I slept great last night.”
Head coach Steve Kerr publicly spoke about the potential move away for Green: “I think what’s really tricky for Draymond is this is the only place he’s ever known. He’s going to have a statue outside the building someday ... He’s never been through this and it’s definitely been on his mind.”
