Draymond Green storms off after argument with Kerr
The Warriors pair clashed on the bench, with the player leaving shortly after.
Cameras picked up a feisty court-side clash during the recent game between the Golden State Warriors and the Orlando Magic, with Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr lashing out at each other so strongly that it ended with the player leaving the bench and missing the final 20 minutes of the game.
The argument came after the player committed a turnover and turned to engage with an official as Kerr called timeout and tried to gather his team to the huddle, saying he felt they were unfocused. From there, angry voices sparked into life.

“He wasn’t going back in... we moved forward”
“We had it out a little bit,” Kerr said after the final buzzer. “He made his decision to go back to the locker room to cool off. That’s all I’m going to say about it. Everything is private.”
When asked whether or not he ever thought about turning to Green for some involvement in the game, Kerr flatly rejected the idea: “He wasn’t going back in. No. He left. He went back to the locker room. We moved forward, and the guys played great.”
For his part, Green admitted that “tempers spilled over” during the exchange, adding that “I thought it was best that I get out of there. I don’t think it was a situation where it was going to get better. It was best to remove myself.”
The spat may have been a one-off, but Green has previous. Just last week, against the Suns, the Warriors were only able to rely on their star for eight minutes before he was ejected. “We need Draymond,” Kerr pleaded. “He’s a champion. We’ve been together for a long time. It’s unfortunate what happened, but it happened.”
