The Dallas Mavericks have struck a deal that will see a huge number of their games broadcast for free.

The Dallas Mavericks vs. Suns game on October 26 will kick-off the start of their new season, and a broadcast deal announced recently will give fans the chance to watch 70 or more games for free.

Following a deal inked with Tegna last month, the Dallas Mavericks announced on Thursday that NBA games will now be available for free to local fans across a wider range of over-the-air broadcast TV stations in Texas.

The agreement adds eight more stations to the previous lineup, joining six Tegna-owned stations, and will make Mavericks games - excluding those aired exclusively on national networks - accessible to about 14 million people across Texas.

The additional broadcasters will now extend coverage across northern Texas and nearby regions, with pre and post-game shows available for a number of channels.

Where to watch the Mavs:

  • Amarillo, TX – KFDA 10.2 (Independent – Gray)
  • El Paso, TX – KDBC 4.2 (MyNetworkTV – Sinclair)
  • Harlingen-Brownsville, TX – KGBT 4.1 (MyNetworkTV – Nexstar)
  • Laredo, TX – KXNU 10.2 (Gray Sports – Gray)
  • Lubbock, TX – KMYL 14.1 (MyNetworkTV – Gray)
  • Sherman, TX – KXII 12.2 (MyNetworkTV – Gray)
  • Shreveport, LA & Texarkana, TX – KSHV 45.1 (MyNetworkTV – Nexstar)
  • Wichita Falls, TX & Lawton, OK – KJBO 3.2 (MyNetworkTV – Nexstar)

How to watch Dallas Mavericks for free:

This season, the Mavs will have 30 games on national TV, with nine of them on ESPN, nine on TNT, seven on NBA TV, and five on ABC.

As for the local broadcasts, as mentioned, the Tegna deal will increase the viewing possibilities of the games with the aforementioned eight channels. With the Mavs no longer with Bally Sports Southwest, most of their games will be shown on KMPX (Channel 29) or WFAA (Channel 4).

Providing access to games has always been our top priority. We are thrilled to work with WFAA to bring more fun and excitement to all of our MFFLs across North Texas and beyond”, said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall in a statement.

Given their success last season, fans will be eager to see if the Doncic/Irving magic can be restored and ignited throughout the season all the way to the playoffs and beyond. However, a new-look squad has brought a sense of uncertain anticipation to fans ahead of the start of the season.

The team lost in the 2024 NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics, but their new additions, if things go well, will surely help them remain one of the top teams in the Western Conference and perhaps give them the edge to go one step further this time around.
