Former Sacramento Kings player confessing to killing a girl in the Nevada desert

The 27-year-old center, Chance Comanche, was arrested with his girlfriend. Both have been accused of the murder of a young woman in the state of Nevada.

Former NBA basketball player Chance Comanche has reportedly confessed to the police what role he played in the murder of popular Instagram model Mariana Rogers, the 23-year-old girl from Washington who was searched for ten days before her body parts were found deep in the deserts of the state of Nevada.

Comanche, an alumnus of the University of Arizona, declared for the 2017 draft but was not selected, so his path took him to the development league, where he played for the Memphis Hustle, Kenton Charge, and Enid Outlaws before a brief stint in Turkey with Ankara. After the 2021/22 season, he returned to the US and played for the Stockton Kings, Portland Trail Blazers (one match, seven points), and the Sacramento development team again until last week.

Comanche, who through the development league was trying to fight for a place in the Sacramento Kings, according to FOX5 television, told the police all the details of the plan to kill Mariana, which he made with his girlfriend Sakari Harnden (19). After that, he was remanded in custody without the right to bail. He will appear in court in Sacramento next Tuesday.

At the time of the murder, Comanche was playing for the Stockton Kings. According to details from the investigation, the murder happened right after the Kings visited Las Vegas on December 5. The girl’s disappearance was reported two days later, and right after the news that Comanche and Harnden were arrested as part of the investigation led by the FBI, the basketball player was fired from the development team of the Sacramento Kings.

Comanche said that Harnden had personal problems with Rogers and that it was a Rolex watch, which is why they made a plan to drag Mariana away and kill her. They suggested having sex in the car, but in such a way that both girls would be tied up on that occasion, and offered the victim a compensation of 1,000 dollars. Comanche told investigators that Sakari Harnden strangled Mariana with her bare hands at the exact moment he tied her hands with an HDMI cable. They then left the victim’s lifeless body deep in the Henderson Desert and covered it with rocks.

The body was found only after Comanche, as part of the investigation, showed on the map the place where they had left the victim. A former Sacramento Kings player confessed to a murder.
