Giannis pushes for radical All-Star Game shake-up
The Bucks star says the league should move ahead with a new type of clash for the best American players.

Giannis Antetokounmpo remains one of the NBA’s biggest figures, and now the Greek star has thrown his support behind the idea of a showdown between a team made up of the league’s top American players and one formed by the best international talent.

The proposed matchup has been floated as a possible new format for the NBA All-Star Game – one that could be embraced by fans looking for a more competitive spectacle.
The Milwaukee Bucks forward shared his enthusiasm for the idea on social media, calling for the format to be adopted as early as 2026. “This should be next year All Star Game format!! Must see basketball 💯,” he wrote.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver confirmed last month that the league is exploring changes to the All-Star Game, and that this particular USA vs. World concept is under consideration.
Next year’s All-Star Game is scheduled for February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
