It has been confirmed that Harrison Barnes, a professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings, has agreed with the team’s management to extend their collaboration. The 31-year-old athlete will receive $54 million over the next three years as part of the new contract. This agreement ensures Barnes will not enter unrestricted free agency and guarantees the team’s continued access to one of their most reliable and beloved players.

Barnes’ agent Jeff Schwartz has confirmed that the small forward will stay with Sacramento. This move ensured that he remained a part of the team rather than becoming a free agent, and if he had become a free agent, the Kings would have had the option to match the offer from another team. The organization has shown its appreciation for Barnes by securing his position less than 24 hours before the start of free agency.

Barnes was a standout player during the playoffs, averaging 15 points per game and shooting an impressive 55 percent on two-pointers in the series against Golden State. Notably, he is one of only three basketball players - Nikola Vucevic and Michael Bridges being the other two - who played every single game for their team during the 2022-23 season. Barnes played a vital role in Sacramento’s success last season, both on and off the court. His veteran leadership was frequently cited and commended by his teammates, and De’Aaron Fox praised Barnes as an example of hard work and consistency in the NBA.

During his career, the basketball player from Sacramento played for the Golden State Warriors, with whom he won the NBA championship, and the Dallas Mavericks in the 2015-16 season. He was part of the “Death Line Up” in the Warriors team alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green. He also earned a gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games as a member of the US national team. Currently, he is in his sixth consecutive season playing for the Kings.
