The Celtics now have the most titles in NBA history which is something their fans have made a point to emphasize. One of those fans just happens to be arguably the greatest player ever to play in the NFL. Here’s what he had to say.

Tom Brady weighs in on Celtics title win

As you would have undoubtedly seen on Monday night, the Boston Celtics are the 2024 NBA champions having defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 106-88, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. To that end, the Celtics now have 18 NBA championships on to their name and their first title since 2008 when they were led by the likes of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen.

Indeed, the Celtics are led today by a new crop of stars in the form of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porziņģis. Yet, what’s also interesting to note is the fraternity between the professional teams that are based in the state of Massachusetts, which includes the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and of course, the New England Patriots. All of these teams have won titles since 2000 but perhaps the most prolific among them are the Patriots who have won six Super Bowls since 2001.

This brings us to former Patriots signal caller and arguably the greatest player to play in the NFL, Tom Brady. The now-retired playmaker couldn’t help but acknowledge the achievement of the Celtics, posting a tribute on social media that has to be considered both succinct and playful at the same time. “Not a bad run for the city”, were the words of the seven-time Super Bowl winner and truth be told, he’s got a point.
