The New York Knicks have the most expensive tickets in the NBA and even the cheapest entry for the Eastern Conference semi-finals costs hundreds of dollars.
The Knicks are currently up against the Pacers in their postseason campaign, having beaten them in game 1. As they look to extend their lead, excitement is growing around the team and fans are eager to see the players who are in fantastic form.
However, tickets to see the Knicks at the iconic Madison Square Gardens are the most expensive in the NBA, a distinction that they have now held for 12 consecutive seasons. A study from FanArch found that the average cost for a family of four at the Knicks was a staggering $937.
How much are Knicks-Pacers tickets?
The Knicks started out at home against the sixth-seeded Indiana Pacers. Game One was scheduled for Monday, 6 May while Game Two will take place on Wednesday 8 May, both of them at Madison Square Garden. The following two games will be held in Indianapolis on Friday 10 May and Sunday 12 May.
At time of writing tickets are still available for the second MSG game but they do not come cheap. Prices for Game One were available from $343, while Game Two tickets start at $369. If you rush now, you can grab the two remaining tickets at $12,000.
If the series continues into a Game Five and Seven expect ticket prices at Madison Square Garden to reach more than $400. In stark contrast, tickets to watch Game Three and Four at the Pacer’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse are currently available for just $78.
Knicks injury woes continue:
Those in attendance at the Garden will be hoping to see more from in-form Jalen Brunson, who has now recorded at least 37 points in each of his last four games. He becomes the first player to achieve that feat since Michael Jordan managed in during the run to a third championship with the Chicago Bulls in 1993.
The Knicks are enjoying a rare run of good form, making it to the Eastern Conference semi-finals for a second consecutive season. They had not managed back-to-back semi-finals since 2000 and Knicks fans have not had a championship to celebrate since 1973. They remain outsiders to be crowned NBA champions this season but this hard-working Knicks team will at least give match-going fans value for money.
