How much money does the NBA All-Star Rising Stars MVP get?

The All-Star weekend is not only for today’s stars but also for the future stars. For the second straight year, the NBA will have a mini-tournament of three games coached by honorary NBA legends: Pau Gasol(Team Pau), Tamika Catchings (Team Tamika), Jalen Rose (Team Jalen) and Detlef Schrempf (Team Detlef).

But how much money do these rookies and sophomores get for playing at the Rising Stars Game?

The only information on how much money the Rising Stars MVP gets is from Kyle Kuzma’s statement in 2019 when he stated that the $25,000 for winning the Rising Stars Game incentivized him. It appears this bonus was the same for all team members regardless of whether they won the MVP for the game.

“I think it was the second timeout, and I broke the huddle by saying, ‘Bonus-1-2-3.’ So there you go.” Said the ex-Laker player back then.

On the other hand, the losing team only received $10,000 per player back then.

Since 2019, the NBA has altered the format of the Rising Stars Game into a bracket system, and it is unclear if this has affected the purse that the players get for participating in the game.
