The Los Angeles Lakers are clear that they want to continue to be contenders in the NBA - the proof of that is pretty evident in the number of transactions the franchise has made during the offseason

Two of the team’s pillars command large contracts - between them, occupying around 51% of the total payroll bill: LeBron James with $47.6 million for this year and Anthony Davis with $40.6 million.

At the other end of the scale, Jaxson Hayes and Cam Reddish take home modest incomes of $2.165 million each.

Strange as it may seem, the Lakers are not in the top 5 teams that spend the most on wages in the NBA. For 2023/24, the franchise is projected to spend $173,399,170 on their team; placing them ninth in the ranking of all 30 NBA franchises in terms of salary expenditure.

The franchises that spend the most on salaries are the Golden State Warriors, closely followed by the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat, completing the top 5.
