Is Jamal Murray playing tonight against the Phoenix Suns?
The Denver Nuggets are leading the Western Conference and looking to hold off the rest of the pack tonight against the Phoenix Suns from Ball Arena.
There are just three weeks left in the NBA’s regular season and there is a sprint to the finish line at the top of the table, as the rest of the pack continue to chase the first placed Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets are on a four game win streak, and have been able to cope without point guard Jamal Murray for the last couple games.
Nuggets gearing up for postseason
They will have to cope without their PG again tonight against the Phoenix Suns. Murray suffered a sprained ankled at the end of the Nuggets win over the Knicks last week, and has missed the last two games. Tonight he was listed on the injury report, and is questionable for the showdown from Ball Arena, but has been downgraded to out.
The Nuggets know just how important it is to have everyone healthy going into the post season after finally reaching their full potential in last year’s title run. They won’t want to rush Murray back, knowing that having a healthy team going into the postseason is more important than wrapping up the one seed.
In a perfect world the Nuggets would have both, a healthy starting five and a one seed in the Western Conference playoffs. After winning their last four games and nine of their last ten they are currently a half game above the Oklahoma City Thunder for the one seed in the West.
Murray is averaging 21 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.7 assists in the Nuggets title defense season, and even though he is one of the top PGs in the league the Nuggets have been okay in the couple games without him. The beat the Trail Blazers in Portland and the Grizzlies in Denver since he went down with his injury.
Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. are also on the injury report, but listed as probable while Aaron Gordon is questionable with a foot injury.
