Is Steph Curry injured? Warriors star exits during Pistons loss
The Golden State Warriors star left the court early with a knee issue.

Stephen Curry’s night came to an abrupt end on Friday as the Golden State Warriors took a 131–124 defeat against the Detroit Pistons at Chase Center. The Warriors’ perennial All-Star left the game in the third quarter after experiencing discomfort in his right knee, leaving fans and teammates alike confused and worried about his condition.
Curry, 37, had been delivering one of his typical big offensive outings, scoring 23 points and sinking several three-pointers before a drive to the basket in the third quarter seemed to aggravate his sore knee. After finishing the play despite contact, he was visibly limping and grimacing, and limped to the locker room shortly afterwards, not returning for the rest of the game.
This injury is not an entirely new concern. The superstar guard had been dealing with right knee soreness over the past week and had appeared on the Warriors’ injury report earlier in the week after swelling developed following an individual shootaround.

Kerr: “I don’t think it’s anything major”
That issue was described at the time as irritation around the kneecap and was the same problem that kept him out of a previous game in Minneapolis.
“I think he’s OK,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Friday’s game. “I don’t think it’s anything major, but we’ll have an update [Saturday]. It’s been nagging him recently."
Warriors forward Gui Santos also spoke about Curry’s issue, revealing: “I noticed that Steph was limping a little bit like since the end of the first quarter. So I saw him limping, and I remember he did an And-1, but he was just limping before he did the And-1. And I said, ‘Man, you tough.’ You can do that with one leg?”
The very last thing the Warriors need is a Steph injury. Curry left the game due to knee soreness and played just 25 min but managed to score 23 pts on 4 threes.

On the game itself, which saw the Pistons come away with the win, Kerr said “I loved the competitive fight of our guys. They really gave us a chance. That’s a hell of a team, obviously, the number one team in the East. Athletic, a ton of size, and a great team. We just couldn’t quite get over the hump.”
