Jalen Brunson describes “ugly” return to Knicks after injury
The New York Knicks star opened up on his return to action in the NBA.

The New York Knicks could once again count on their superstar Jalen Brunson after the two-time NBA All-Star returned following his recovery from an ankle issue that had kept him out of action.
Brunson had missed two games after suffering a Grade 1 sprain of his right ankle during a drive in a 124-107 home loss to Orlando on November 12.
He returned on the road in Dallas, scoring a game high 28 points and delivering the winning three-pointer in a wild 113-111 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
“It feels great. I never want to take any opportunity for granted,” Brunson said in the aftermath. “[I’m] just happy to be back out there.” However, rather than celebrate a sensational comeback, Brunson called the win “chaos”. He explained post-game: “at the same time, [we] found a way to win. It was ugly. When you win ugly, it’s a sign of a team learning, getting better. No matter what the situation is, we’ve got to find a way to win.”
On the game itself, Brunson said of his team’s performance that “these are building blocks to the stuff we have to work on now. The quicker we get better at this, the better it’s going to be for us in the long run. These are not pressure (situations). This is the stuff we work on. It’s what we do... let’s go out and do it.”
When asked about his ankle, the 29-year-old said it felt “fantastic,” though he admitted he did not learn how serious the injury was until undergoing an MRI the day after he left MSG in a walking boot.
