Jimmy Butler issues 3-word jab in direction of Miami Heat
He seems right at home with the Warriors, but his latest comments hint there’s still some unfinished business left back in Miami.

When Jimmy Butler joined the Golden State Warriors, the move raised plenty of eyebrows around the NBA. It wasn’t just about his gritty playing style or how his physical game would mesh with a squad known for lighting up the scoreboard from beyond the arc. The real question: could Butler find his passion again after an uneven stint with the Miami Heat?
That question is starting to get clearer. Since Butler’s arrival, the Warriors are enjoying their best run in months, posting a 5-1 record. Butler himself looks refreshed, comfortable, and maybe even a little defiant. In the recent win over the Dallas Mavericks – his first home appearance in San Francisco – Butler dropped 18 points, dished five assists, and nailed all eight free throws. Golden State cruised past Dallas 126-102, thanks largely to a signature third-quarter blitz from Steph Curry.
Butler, averaging 20 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, has found a way to thrive by doing the little things: getting steals, attacking the basket, and hitting teammates on the move.

Butler’s subtle dig at Miami?
Butler’s comments after that game, however, caught attention not just for what he said about his new team – but what he implied about his old one. While praising the ease of his transition, Butler was quick to emphasize the Warriors’ team chemistry and his own fit. “Honestly – in the most humble way possible – I’m a good fit everywhere,” he said. “I play basketball the right way. A lot of people here shoot a ton of threes. You don’t see me shooting a ton of threes.”

Fair enough. But then Butler took it one step further. He stressed how valuable it is “wanting to be wanted,” before delivering a three-word jab clearly directed at the Heat.
“I’m wanted here,” he said.
Those three simple words spoke volumes. Butler’s relationship with Miami was complicated – one defined as much by postseason heroics as by friction and unmet expectations. His comment, subtle as it seemed, was a clear indication that Butler might still carry a chip on his shoulder, left over from how things ended in Miami.
Butler, known for directness, dropped the candid line that sounded like relief with maybe a touch of bitterness. “I’m good with that,” he insisted about being wanted by his new team. “This is where I want to be. Real s**t.”

Where does Butler go from here?
Jimmy Butler is doing exactly what Golden State hoped: bringing toughness, energy, and a veteran edge to complement Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. And he’s clearly enjoying every minute.
Miami, meanwhile, has some soul-searching to do. Butler’s subtle swipe might sting, but the Heat can’t claim total surprise. After all, he’s always going to say exactly what he feels. This time, Miami’s loss seems very much Golden State’s gain.
