The Golden State Warriors have presented restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga with a new three-year contract worth $75.2 million, according to insider Shams Charania. The deal includes a team option for the third season.

Kuminga’s Warriors demands

Sources say Kuminga is unhappy with the team option, preferring a player option that would give him more control over his future with Golden State. The Warriors, however, are insisting on keeping the team option in place.

General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. sent the proposal late last week. The contract includes $48.3 million guaranteed over the first two seasons. The team is also waiting to see if Kuminga will waive his no-trade clause.

Time running out for Warriors amid Kuminga interest

Kuminga explored opportunities with the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings during the offseason, but negotiations fell through. He now has until Oct. 1 to sign the Warriors’ one-year qualifying offer of $7.9 million.

Last season, Kuminga averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 47 games.
