Kevin Durant comments on retirement rumors

The Kevin Durant saga continues to make headlines and spark rumors, but the Nets star has put an end to the retirement rumors.

The Brooklyn Nets forward has finally spoken.

Kevin Durant (and potential Phoenix Suns target) put an end to the retirement rumors echoing across the league.

While Durant didn’t talk about his situation with Brooklyn, he posted on Twitter that he does not plan to retire anytime soon.

Durant’s post comes after NBA insider Marc Stein’ report on Monday: “During summer league in Las Vegas, one of the most well-connected team executives I speak to regularly insisted to me that, based on what he was hearing, Kevin Durant was more apt to retire than play again for the Brooklyn Nets,” said Stein in a recent report.

“This was in early July.”

Durant and Nets drama still up in the air

Since he requested a trade on June 30, things haven’t been clear with Durant. The 33-year-old reportedly met with Brooklyn’s owner Joe Tsai and basically requested that head coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks be fired for him to stay.

Subsequently, Tsai took to Twitter showing support for his front office members.

While the Durant situation will probably continue to be ambiguous for some more time, at least we know that he has four years left on his contract to commit to.
