Kevin Durant requests trade from Nets

The speculation surrounding possible trade locations around the NBA is only heating up as Kevin Durant tells the Brooklyn Nets that he wants to be traded.

Just days after pulling off a coup by getting point guard Kyrie Irving to opt in to the final year of his contract, the Brooklyn Nets have celebrations cut short with the news that Kevin Durant wants out. For the last week, there has been speculation over whether Durant would move west, perhaps to Portland, but several sources are reporting that Durant’s preferred trade is the Phoenix Suns.

ESPN reports that Nets GM Sean Marks is working with Durant and his agent Rich Kleiman to finding an acceptable trade destination, and where he winds up will become clearer as the NBA’s free agency starts up.

Every team in the NBA should be scouring their books to come up with a trade offer for the 33-year-old future Hall of Famer. With the Nets unable to make the Eastern Conference finals, Durant will be looking for a team to give him the silverware that his career so richly deserves.
