Lakers trade rumors: What are the Knicks asking for in an Evan Fournier trade?

Check all the details of the trade talks between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers desperately need something that helps them change their negative dynamics in the NBA.

Darvin Ham’s men are sitting 12th in the West Conference, with 11 wins and 16 losses, which has led to several potential trade targets that should help the team resurface after the poor performances this season.

Right now, the 17-time NBA champions are 3.5 games back of the 8th seed and falling behind in the playoff race.

Truth is that the Lakers have recently improved and been close to what is expected from such a powerful franchise, with players like Lebron James, Anthony Davis, or Russell Westbrook, but they blew a game late and went on to lose in overtime against the Celtics (118-122).

Lakers looking to upgrade the roster

The NBA trade deadline is two months away, but the Lakers, who have blown two of their last three games in the final seconds, have already started working on some trades to improve the squad, in particular the three-point shooting area. And that’s when the Evan Fournier name came out.

Thursday will be the first day teams are allowed to trade players they signed as free agents during the offseason and the Los Angeles franchise have held talks with the New York Knicks, who are looking to close a deal involving both Cam Reddish and Evan Fournier.

According to different media, the Knicks tried to trade Fournier to the Lakers for Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn, but LA asked New York to attach a draft pick to any trade involving Evan Fournier.

Fournier, a career 38.0 percent three-point shooter, and Reddish would certainly help the Lakers, but teams such as the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks may also attempt to acquire the Pennsylvania native.

Besides their interest in Fournier and Reddish, Los Angeles have shown interest in Bojan Bogdanovic, but a three-team trade is unlikely to happen.
