LeBron James defiant over playoff elimination

Estados Unidos Update:

The Los Angeles Lakers are officially on vacation after being knocked out of the first round of the 2024–25 NBA playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron James finished the campaign nursing a knee injury that hampered him throughout the series against Chris Finch’s side. Despite falling short of expectations following Luka Doncic’s arrival, the four-time champion is taking the offseason in his stride.

James made an appearance on the latest episode of Mind the Game, a podcast hosted by former NBA player Steve Nash, where he said he’s not losing any sleep over the narrative painting him and Doncic as the main culprits in the Lakers’ elimination.

“I’ve learned over the years that teams win championships,” LeBron said. “Teams always win championships and individuals get accolades, but it’s a group that wins the title. I understand it’s never about me and Luka. It’s not about Anthony Edwards or Julius Randle either. It was always Minnesota versus the Lakers. I’m at a stage in my career where that doesn’t keep me up at night.”

LeBron averaged 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists over the five-game series against the Timberwolves. Despite being 39, the Lakers forward stayed active on defense, recording 10 steals and nine blocks.

One area of concern was his three-point shooting – he made just 35.7% of his attempts from beyond the arc, though he still shot a strong 48.9% from the field overall.
