LeBron’s poster dunk on Williams sends stunning reminder
The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second game in their last three, but LeBron James had one of the dunks of the year against someone who was almost a Laker.

Poor Mark Williams. He was so close to leaving a Charlotte Hornets team that has really never been relevant, ever. Instead of being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, and playing for a contending team with two superstars, he is back in Charlotte on a team that will most likely miss the playoffs for another year running.
A deal gone wrong
It was the second biggest headline coming out of LA during the trade deadline. The Lakers, who traded away Anthony Davis, tried to bring in the Hornets’ center to replace a void in the middle of the paint. It seemed like a done deal, but Williams failed his physical, and was sent back to the Hornets who had to return Dalton Knecht and Cam Reddish to the Lakers.
LeBron James added insult to injury in the fourth quarter of the Lakers game against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. LeBron who had 16 points in the final 12 minutes of the game, drove down the lane and threw a monster dunk down over the Hornets center, as the Crypto.com Arena erupted.
Williams and the Hornets would have the last laugh, beating the Lakers to hand them their second loss in three games since the debut of Luka Doncic. Despite the win in LA, Williams had to be imagining what it would have been like playing in LA, with Luka and LeBron and a fellow Duke Blue Devil as his coach.
