Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic sat in front of the press ahead of the NBA finals game 2 match against the Boston Celtics.

The pressure is on Dallas, who lost the first game against their opponents 107-89, meaning a huge hill is to be climbed if they are to flip both the scoreline and the emotional deficit between the two sides.

However, just hours before tip-off, Doncic was asked by one journalist about the goings-on in European football: Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappé just a few days ago and the Slovenian was, as a result, quizzed regarding his thoughts on the move that has sent shockwaves through the world of sport.

What did Luka Doncic say about Kylian Mbappé?

Doncic’s response, with the press waiting eagerly for his opinion on this earth-shattering transfer, was sensationally succinct and dry: “I already knew it, he said, with a cheeky smile.

After the laughter had calmed down, the journalist went for a second, tentative prod at getting more words out of the basketball star, asking if he had spoken to the Frenchman.

“No not yet”, Doncic replied before adding “not since he signed”.

Doncic said his prediction for the Euros was “Slovenia”, a team placed 57th in the FIFA World Rankings. Let’s hope Doncic’s cool, calm and cocky nature comes out on the court as he tries to put on a show for the world.

Kylian Mbappé, for his part, is set to start for France in their upcoming friendly game against Canada, on Sunday, June 9 at 3:15 p.m. ET.
