Miami Heat’s first offseason move signals major change ahead
The Miami Heat needs to make drastic changes to return to the top, so they are starting to make adjustments in the market.

The NBA free agency period is heating up, and in Miami, the Heat are facing pressure to make bold changes if they want to reclaim their place among the league’s elite. Last season, they finished eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 37-45 record and were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Duncan Robinson: first confirmed departure from Miami
The Detroit Pistons have agreed to sign him to a three-year, $48 million deal after he declined his $20 million early termination option.
As part of the trade, Detroit will send Simone Fontecchio to Miami. The forward, who spent parts of the past two seasons with the Pistons, averaged 5.9 points per game while shooting 40.2% from the field. He is set to earn $8.3 million next season.

Robinson spent seven seasons with the Heat after going undrafted in 2018. Known for his clutch three-point shooting, he hit 39.7% of his shots from beyond the arc over his career and leaves as Miami’s all-time leader in made three-pointers with 1,202.
The Pistons have remained active in free agency, also signing Caris LeVert to a two-year, $29 million contract.
