Michael Jordan’s exclusive $3 million car could hit 500 km/h

The Chicago Bulls legend has acquired a Hennessey F5 Roadster, a convertible with almost 2,000 horsepower of which there are only thirty in the world.

Amidst the ongoing debate about who holds the title of the greatest player in basketball history, Michael Jordan, unsurprisingly, appears unaffected by the chatter. The legendary six-time NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls has flexed his significant financial muscle by acquiring one of the most exclusive cars available on the market. This impressive vehicle boasts a top speed of up to 500 km/h, over 300 mph.

MJ adds Hennessey Venom F5 to luxury garage

The car in question is the Hennessey F5 Roadster, a convertible with an impressive power output of nearly 2,000 horsepower (to be precise, 1,842 horsepower). Only a limited production run of 30 units of this model has been manufactured and this one has been personalized. The extravagant indulgence of the iconic number 23 in sports history comes with a price tag of approximately $3 million.

“Today was a special day. Such an honor to build a special Venom F5 for a special friend,“ the company wrote on its official Instagram account, adding a goat emoticon often appearing with those perceived to be the Greatest Of All Time. The convertible, the second most expensive in the world after the Bugatti Mistral, reaches 100 km/h in less than three seconds and is capable of reaching 400 km/h in 15.5 seconds. Whoosh!

Which sport stars has the most expensive car collection?

Although it’s difficult to analyze perfectly, especially given the amount of change going on, there are plenty of athletes who could compete for having the most valuable garage of vehicles. There is no secret that a passion for automobiles is shared by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Lewis Hamilton, to name just a few, but when it comes to a collection of high-end cars the feeling is that Jordan’s garage is the most expensive of them all.

The basketball legend combines his taste for the classic and the modern. In its current evolution, with the Venom added, his wheeled options include a Ferrari 599 GTB Fioriano, the iconic Ferrari 512 TR, a Bugatti Veyron, a McLaren SLR 722, a Bentley Continental GT and a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette. A garage of dreams.
