NBA coach’s ex-wife attacks trolls on IG after rumors that she is dating a Miami Heat player: “Comment with the nastiest shit you got for me”

Nikki Spoelstra is done staying silent. The ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra took to Instagram over the weekend to shut down swirling rumors that she’s dating one of the team’s players - and she did it with a heavy dose of sarcasm and defiance.

Social media had been buzzing with speculation that the 38-year-old former Heat dancer was romantically linked to 24-year-old forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. The online chatter had gotten so loud that Nikki decided to address it head-on, making it clear she’s had enough.

Spoelstra brings the heat for trolls

Posting a video to her Instagram page, Nikki wasted no time calling out the trolls and conspiracy theorists who had taken over her comments.

“Y’all streets give me way too much power when shit doesn’t go your way in pro sports,” she said, not holding back.

She went on to vent her frustration over the way fans had used the alleged romance as an excuse to attack her. “It’s one thing for you sports fanatics to come onto my page after I made a really big life choice and talk crazy, and it’s another thing entirely for you to come to my page to harass me and call me crazy names over something, a rumor, a fuckin story that is 100 percent flat out not true.”

She explained why she didn’t just continue to ignore it. She highlights the lame storytelling choices. She reveals that she, the girlfriend and the mother have spoken and are now just rolling their eyes at “all you knuckleheads”.

“Let’s not forget,” she concludes, “according to you guys I’m to ugly and old for this shit anyway.”

Nikki challenges the trolls

Not content with just shutting down the rumor, Nikki took a step further, flipping the script on those harassing her. In the caption of her Instagram video, she issued a challenge:

“Let’s go IG. Show me what you got. Keep coming for my integrity. The only person who is big mad is you, babes! It’s hard when things don’t go your way in sports. Ik ik.”

And in a final dose of defiant sarcasm, she dared her critics to bring their worst:

“Trolls tap in! Comment below with the nastiest shit you got for me. Go on. Show your humanity. Nastiest comment wins.”
