NBA confirm 19% increase in 2021-22 regular season viewership

The National Basketball Association have confirmed a 19% year-on-year boost in collective average domestic viewing figures for the 2021-22 regular season.

The NBA have confirmed its best ratings since the 2018/19 season after confirming a 19% boost for its collective average domestic viewer figures for the recently finished 2021-22 regular season.

The NBA claimed an average audience of 1.6 million viewers across the TNT, ABC and ESPN networks-platforms. The growth represents an increase from the pandemic hampered 2020-21 season and an uplift of 3% from the 2019-20 figures.

There was also a significant uplift in subscription sto the NBA’s OTT League Pass with the association confirming a 30% boost in subscriptions over the past years with the NBA also confirming increased social media numbers with it’s YouTube platform securing 13 billion video views, an increase of 7% from 2020-21 with it’s TikTok channel boasting more than 480 million views.
