According to recent reports, it has been revealed that NBA player Anthony Edwards has been fined a hefty $50,000 for his involvement in a physical altercation with two women following a playoff game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets back in April.

This ruling comes after a thorough investigation into the incident. It serves as a reminder that physical assault in any form is unacceptable and will be met with appropriate consequences.

According to NBA Board VP Joe Dumars, Anthony Edwards was disciplined for his reckless act of swinging a chair in frustration, hitting two individuals nearby. This unfortunate incident occurred after Edwards missed a crucial three-point shot during the intense match against the Nuggets. Had he made the shot, his team could have had a chance at overtime.

However, the loss ultimately led to Minnesota’s exit from the playoff series. In contrast, the Denver team, led by the talented Nikola Jokić, moved on to the next round and emerged champions, earning the coveted NBA championship ring.

Currently, the guard of the Timberwolves basketball team is making preparations for the upcoming World Basketball Championship that will be taking place in Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The tournament will commence on August 25 and continue till September 10.

Recently, Edwards made headlines by signing a whopping $260 million contract. This contract comes as proof and an award for his fantastic performances in the previous season, in which he averaged an impressive 24.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Unsurprisingly, he was selected to participate in the All-Star Game.

Basketball fans can mark their calendars for October 24th, the official start date of the new NBA season.
