ABC, ESPN and TNT the national providers of NBA

Each of the 32 teams around the league now know their schedule from the middle of October until the end of …. When the season begins. If your are an avid fan of the NBA you might already be thinking of investing in NBA Game Pass, the league’s service that allows you to watch all of your favorites team’s games along with every game all year long.

If you are casual fan who flips on the TV when a big game is on, or when your favorite player is on the court you will probably just wait for the big games that are televised nationally.

There are a few networks that broadcast the NBA on a nation wide level. The first of which is ABC, which had right to the NBA Finals last season and will have the rights to the NBA Finals this season as well. ABC usually shows one or two of the biggest weekend matches during the regular season and lets ESPN broadcast the mid-week games. TNT is the other network that has the right to bring the country NBA games.

Between ABC, the ESPNs and TNT the NBA is essentially available seven days a week. ESPN gets the Monday, Wednesday and Friday games, while TNT broadcasts the Tuesday and Thursday games. And ABC will step in and take care of the weekend duties from ESPN on many, but not all occasions.

Biggest markets and brightest stars in spotlight

Obviously, the trick to peaking interest and ratings for these nationally televised games is putting the leagues best teams and the game’s biggest stars on the spotlight, so we are going to have loads of games with the defending champion Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks, LeBron James and the LA Lakers, Philly and Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic the the Denver Nuggets.
