With an impressive record of 15 goals scored and only two conceded, El Tri’s latest show of strength came in Toluca, where they thrashed Serbia 5-1, showing a perfect balance between attack and defense.

By contrast, the outlook for South Africa looks far less encouraging, as they are on a negative run of five games without a win in their warm-up friendlies.

A game with the flavor of historic revenge

This meeting carries a special mystique, as the two teams opened the 2010 World Cup in Johannesburg 16 years ago, a game that ended in an emotional 1-1 draw remembered for goals by Siphiwe Tshabalala and Rafael Márquez.
