New data shows this NBA team has become the most supported sports franchise in the U.S

The NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, etc. are more than just sports to Americans; they are household traditions that have been carried on for decades, within and beyond the U.S. borders.

Traditions matter, but so does winning and that’s probably why the Dallas Cowboys are no longer “America’s team”. The Golden State Warriors have taken over the top spot as the most popular sports franchise in North America according to this report.

Fans want to follow a winner and they have that with the Warriors, who have won four NBA championships since 2015. Cowboys’ fans seem to be growing tired of losing. The team from Dallas hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 1995.

The Dallas Cowboys: No longer America’s team

Despite being one of the highest valued sports franchises with a massive fan base, the struggles have continued for Jerry Jones’ team year after year.

Members of the NFC East division, the five-time Super Bowl champions became the most valuable sports team in the world in 2015- as the first sports team ever valued at $4 billion- and a few years later they broke their previous record and jumped into the $5 billion ladder.

They were also the first U.S. team to generate $620 million in revenue, making Forbes’ list as the most valued NFL team for the 12th straight year, according to Wikipedia.

Previously known as America’s team, the Cowboys haven’t their fans a reason to be devoted over the last 30 years.

Jerry Jones got off to a hot start after buying the Cowboys in 1989. The team won the Super Bowl in 1992, 1993 and 1995, but it has been a long drought since then and fans are losing their patience with Jerry Jones.
