Update:

Even in the latter stages of his career, when one may think that winding down to a nice retirement is the best option, LeBron James continues to make history in the NBA.

The LA Lakers legend came up against the Dallas Mavericks in the regular season game that initially saw all the cameras pointing at Luka Doncic, following his controversial move from one team to the other.

Debate has raged over everything surrounding the Mavs' decision to let him go and the player himself has been put under the spotlight and scrutinised to levels previously unseen in his case.

But during the game, all eyes were on The King, as he yet again wrote his name into the history books with another sensational performance.

LeBron breaks a new record

StatMuse posted during the game that “LeBron James has passed Ray Allen for the most games (1,148) with a made 3-pointer”, firing himself to the top of another incredibly difficult list and adding a further accolade to his resumé of genius feats.

Ahead of the game, which the Lakers won 107-99 at Crypto.com Arena, James sat on averages of of 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.8 assists per contest while shooting 51.8% from the field and 39.5% from the three-point range in 51 games.

After just six minutes of playing time he had five points, one rebound and one steal while shooting 2/3 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range - putting him above Allen.

At the time of writing, the Lakers are one of the NBA’s most deadly sides. They hold the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 34-21 record after 55 games played.
