Nikola Jokic has some strong words on Luka Doncic’s Lakers move
Los Angeles’ signing of the Slovenian from the Dallas Mavericks continues to provoke reactions in the NBA, including a star of the Denver Nuggets.

This weekend saw the NBA All-Star Game, where Shaq’s OGs claimed a 41-25 victory over Chuck’s Global Stars. However, one of the biggest talking points of the night was LeBron James' absence, as the Lakers star withdrew from the event just minutes before tip-off.
Speaking about his decision to sit out, James also addressed the arrival of the Lakers’ newest star, Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic, who joined from the Dallas Mavericks in a three-team trade that sent multiple players the other way – including Anthony Davis, who now finds himself in Dallas.
LeBron fired up by the arrival of Doncic
James didn’t hide his excitement about teaming up with the four-time All-Star, who landed in Los Angeles just days ago.
“The excitement of adding a player of that caliber, a generational talent like that, to our franchise is something that has given me energy,” James said. “I can’t wait to see what we can do.”

Nikola Jokic on Doncic’s unexpected trade
The blockbuster deal didn’t go unnoticed around the league, especially by reigning Finals MVP Nikola Jokic, who shared his thoughts on the shake-up.
“I think both teams win. I think Luka is a generational player, generational talent. I’m not saying AD is not. I’m just saying Luka is someone we’ve seen before, who is affecting the game at so many levels, in so many possessions,” Jokic said.
“He was building something there. I think he was hurt [with the trade], but I think it’s good because now people and players are going to take him even more seriously.”

Before the trade, Doncic had faced the Lakers 22 times, averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game. Since arriving in Los Angeles, his numbers have dipped to 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists – but all eyes will be on how he adapts to his new team in the weeks ahead.
