Not LeBron, or Bill Russell: This is who J.J. Redick thinks has the most impressive NBA record ever
Los Angeles Lakers coach J.J. Redick is in his first year at Crypto.com Arena and is about to witness history first hand as LeBron James goes for 50,000.

J.J. Redick has done a little bit of everything throughout his career. He was a superstar in college, had a solid NBA career, was a broadcaster for ESPN during the NBA Finals, and was a budding podcast star before getting hired by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Redick’s stand out debut season
Needless to say, Redick knows ball. In his first year as the Lakers coach he has had to deal with the two biggest stories in the NBA this season. The first was the drafting of Bronny James, making him and LeBron the first father so duo to play in the league at the same time, and it just so happens they play on the same team.
The media circus that followed was unlike anything we or he has ever seen, and he has seen a lot in his day. Then Luka Doncic came to LA in a shocking midseason trades we have ever seen in the NBA. He has plugged in the Slovenian effortlessly, and the Lakers are looking like one of the better teams in the league since Doncic joined.
LA are sitting second in the West after rattling off their sixth straight win and 12th in the Lakers last 14. While Rob Pelinka deserves a lot of credit for making the trade deadline deal happen, Redick was the one that had to adapt the team.
LeBron knocking on door of another milestone
I think we have covered his CV well enough, but his experience in the game gives him a little more credibility than your average Joe you might hear on TV. So after the Lakers last win in LA over the Clippers, LeBron James came up one point short of 50,000 for his career. He is already the all-time leading scorer, but now he has a chance to be the only player ever to reach that mark.

When LeBron’s coach was asked if it will be the greatest record in NBA history once he scores his next basket and hits the milestone? “That’s a great question” said Redick. “I would say Wilt’s (100 point game). In terms of individual performances, I don’t think anyone will ever reach that.”
LeBron’s highest scoring game came back in 2014 when he dropped 61 points on the Charlotte Bobcats back wen he was playing for the Miami Heat. It’s unlikely James will reach Wild’s record, or even his own personal record, but he will reach the 50,000 mark when the Lakers take on Pelicans from LA on Tuesday night.
