Paul George drops a bombshell on his 76ers future
The 76ers star has made a decision about his future in the sport.

Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George has revealed that he will be quitting his podcast to focus on basketball.
The 76ers are currently wading their way through an 8-game losing streak, with George recently admitting that “it’s no secret that this season is, up to this point, hasn’t been what we envisioned.”
“I know my goal when I first signed with Philadelphia was to bring a championship to these amazing fans here”, he added, “I still remain positive about that and that is still the case and where I’m coming from.”

‘I plan to take a break from the pod’
However, in order to do so, it seems that George has to put some of his daily activities aside in order to concentrate on the on-court action.
On the most recent episode of ‘Podcast P’, the 34-year-old spoke to the fans: “I want to let the ‘Podcast P’ family know that after today’s episode with Dwight, I plan to take a break from the pod just to focus on getting my body right, getting mentally right, and help this squad make a push towards our goal to finish the season and give ourselves a chance to be in contention to compete for a championship."
George was one of the first basketball athletes to jump on the podcast bandwagon, starting up the project back in 2023 when he was with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Since his move to the 76ers, where he signed a 4 year, $211,584,940 contract, injury and poor form have seen his performances dip, and the California native has put up his worst ever NBA numbers. The 76ers sit on a 20-37 record and are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Despite the poor showings from the side as a whole, George has been a key contributor during the 2024-25 season, playing in 39 games and averaging 16.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. His shooting percentages include 43.2% from the field, 35.8% from three-point range, and 81.1% from the free-throw line, contributing to an effective field goal percentage of 51.6%.
