Update:

Draymond Green’s fiery temperament once again dominated headlines after the Golden State Warriors forward was thrown out of Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz following a heated dispute with officials.

It was Green’s second ejection in the last eight games, a pattern that has become a talking point in and around the Warriors’ locker room.

The sequence unfolded in the second quarter. Green, visibly irked by what he believed was a missed three-second call on a Jazz possession, confronted official Kevin Cutler and quickly picked up two technical fouls. The second, assessed in rapid succession, led to his dismissal. Green left the court with the Warriors losing 58-48 and did not return, heading straight to the locker room.

“We need Draymond,” coach Steve Kerr lamented about the player who saw the 22nd ejection of his career. “I want him out there. We need him.”

“The consensus in the locker room was there wasn’t enough to get thrown out”

Despite the disruption, Golden State rallied to a 123-114 victory, bolstered by a dominant third quarter from Steph Curry, who scored 20 of his game-high 31 points after the break.

When speaking to the media huddle that gathered after the game, Curry struck a measured tone and revealed what the dressing room thought of the issue that had unfolded on the court which ended in Green’s ejection: “I don’t know what he said to the ref,” he said. “But I think, the consensus in the locker room was there wasn’t enough to get thrown out.”

You do have to remember where we were a week-and-a-half, two weeks ago,” he added. “And what’s ahead in terms of an opportunity to string some wins together. I think our morale is pretty high, and we’re playing hard and competing.”

The Golden State Warriors take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, January 5, 2026, with tip-off scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. The game will be played at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
