Steph Curry: “You’ve got to be present as much as possible”

Steph Curry and the Warriors have been here many times before. One win away from the NBA Championship, Curry knows the drill, to stay in the moment.

Update:

This isn’t Stephen Curry or the Warriors’ first rodeo. Heading into Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics tonight, the Warriors are up 3-2. If they win tonight, they win it all. If the lose, they will force a Game 7 in San Francisco. There’s a lot at stake, but Curry knows they have to stay calm and collected.

“Having been here six times and been in a lot of different close-out type of opportunities, you just understand what the nerves are like,” said Curry. “You can rely on that experience for sure.”

Since 1996, 12 of the last 16 teams to be who were down 3-2 were defeated in the sixth game.

“We understand the specifics of how we need to approach the game from a physicality perspective, our game plan adjustments from Game 5 to Game 6, understanding what the building is going to feel like, that energy and being prepared for it.”

“At the end of the day, once you get out there, you have to just be in the moment.”

Game 6 starts tonight at 9 p.m. ET in Boston. Catch all the live text coverage right here at AS USA.
