Last weekend, LeBron James reached a new milestone in his illustrious NBA basketball career by surpassing the 40,000-point mark, becoming the first player of all time to achieve this feat.

This record appears to be challenging to surpass, or at least it will likely be a long time before another extraordinary player graces the NBA courts and competes to reach this monstrous figure. In second place stands Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 38,387 points, a total that already seems distant and difficult to attain.

Having said that, there are other records that seem impossible to break and remain etched in the annals of history indefinitely, until a new standard-bearer emerges on the horizon who can rise to the upper echelons of the greatest players of all time in the NBA.

Six NBA records that may never be broken

  • LeBron James surpassing 40,000 points
  • The 11 championships won by Bill Russell
  • Michael Jordan’s 6 NBA Finals MVP awards
  • Magic Johnson’s NBA Finals MVP award in his rookie year
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 6 NBA MVP awards
  • John Stockton’s 15,000 assists

Additionally, we should also mention the remarkable number of three-pointers made by ‘Chef’ Stephen Curry with the Golden State Warriors, which currently stands at 3,656 and continues to increase as he remains active in the NBA. Soon we may have seven on our list.
