The insane price paid for Steph Curry’s historic 2022 jersey
Steph Curry’s 2022 NBA Finals jersey has sold for a crazy amount at a private sale.

In a landmark moment for sports memorabilia, the game-worn jersey that Stephen Curry wore in the decisive Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals has sold privately for a staggering $2.45 million.
That particular Game 6 holds a special place in recent basketball history. Curry and the Golden State Warriors secured their fourth NBA championship in that series against the Boston Celtics, and Curry’s performance earned him the Finals Most Valuable Player award.
The jersey was authenticated by MeiGray Group, the industry leader in matching specific game-worn gear to photos and footage, and is confirmed as the only uniform Curry wore in that final game.

The buyer, who remains anonymous and was represented by Curio Advisors, opted for a private sale rather than a public auction. According to MeiGray president Barry Meisel, interest in high-end private deals has surged over the past year: “We have seen a significant increase the last 12 to 18 months in private sales of this magnitude,” Meisel said. “Premium items are selling for multiples of what they did several years ago -- and buyers and sellers want to sell them privately.”
“We chronicle, in real time, historic milestones and moments,” Meisel said. “Last year, we authenticated Alex Ovechkin‘s jersey from his 895th, Gretzky-record-breaking goal -- I literally took it off his back during the postgame ceremony, authenticated it and handed it to Alex. He says he’s building a museum in Russia when he retires."
To put the $2.45 million figure in context, Curry’s previous individual sale records were strong but not this dramatic. Last summer, a jersey from his second ever NBA game, in which he hit his first professional three-pointer, fetched around $1.758 million at Sotheby’s.
