The tension is rising, the pressure cooker is boiling and the temperatures are soaring ahead of Game 3 between the Knicks and the Pacers.

A 2-0 lead is what the Pacers hold ahead of the upcoming fixture, with Knicks fans praying their solid away record plays to the correct tune and they manage to keep their hopes alive for another day.

Controlling the tension will be referee Sean Wright, an experienced pro at the top level of American basketball. He has officiated 1,129 regular-season games over his 19 seasons as an NBA referee and his substantial playoff experience includes 94 games. Wright made his playoff debut in the NBA Finals in 2021, when he oversaw Game 2 between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns.

Before reaching the NBA, Wright officiated in the NBA G League, including the 2004 playoffs and the 2005 Finals.

At the college level, he worked games in several conferences, including the SEC, Colonial, Big South, Southern, Ohio Valley, Atlantic Sun, and Southwestern Athletic Conference. He also officiated the NCAA Division II Men’s Tournament in 2004.
